Master the 5210 Plan for healthy habits in our children
Hey everyone, are you ready to join the Avengers of Healthy Habits? Let’s get started with the 5210 plan! We have Iron Man’s energy, Pikachu’s power, and Barbie’s grace. Are you excited? Let’s go!
Avengers of Healthy Habits
Are Your Daily Habits Nurturing Health Heroes or Creating Villains?
My Parent: What is 5210? My Shishu: 5210, is nothing but 5+2+1+0=5210 habits mantra!
5 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables
Just like how the Avengers need to power up to save the world, we need to fuel our body with healthy foods to stay strong and healthy.
Let’s take a leaf out of Popeye’s book and say, “I am what I eat, and I am strong to the finish when I eat my spinach!” And just like how Hulk loves his greens, let’s add some broccoli and kale to our plates too.
Remember, 5 servings of fruits and veggies every day…
– keeps the doctor away!
It may sound like a lot, but it’s actually quite easy. You can have a banana for breakfast, an apple for a snack, some salad for lunch, and some steamed veggies for dinner. And there you have it, 5 servings of fruits and veggies!
My Parent: WHAT IS SERVING? My Shishu: A SERVING IS ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR FIST, is that Easy-Pizzy! Right?
2 Hours or Less of Recreational Screen Time
We may not be superheroes like Spiderman, but we need to have our Spidey sense on when it comes to screen time.
Let’s channel our inner Pikachu and say, “Pika pika, no more screen time!”
– It’s important to have a balance, just like how Masha and Bear have fun outside, we can too.
We can play hopscotch, tag, and even try some yoga like Barbie. So, let’s keep screen time to a minimum and keep our bodies moving like our favorite anime characters.
DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR FAMILY
1 Hour or More of Physical Activity
Speaking of moving, let’s talk about exercise. We all know that exercise is important, but let’s make it fun too. Let’s take a page out of Captain America’s book and say, “I can do this all day!” We can try Zumba like Diana, run like Mickey Mouse, or even practice our martial arts like Nastya. The options are endless, so let’s choose something we love and make it a part of our daily routine.

- Exercise makes your heart and your muscles strong! - And it helps make your brain ready to learn. - It’s more fun with your friends or with your family. Yes, No, Maybe - Baby?
0 Sugary Drinks, More Water and Low-Fat Milk
Now, this one may be tough, but just like how Thor can’t resist his hammer, we can’t resist the temptation of sugary drinks.
Let’s channel our inner Black Widow and say, “I don’t need sugary drinks to be strong!”
– Instead, let’s drink more water like Iron Man, and low-fat milk like Barbie.
And when we need a little sweetness, let’s add some fruit to our water like Masha and Bear. Zero sugary drinks, more water and low-fat milk is the way to go!
ZERO Sugary Drink - Zero Water White Milk is way better your body needs water so you can be your healthy best. You’re made of water silly not soda supplies.

+9 Hours of Sleep
Last but not least, let’s talk about sleep. We may not be as fast as The Flash, but we need to recharge our bodies just like him.
Let’s channel our inner Sleeping Beauty and say, “I need my beauty sleep!” Just like how Spiderman needs his webs, we need our sleep to keep our minds and bodies healthy.
So let’s aim for 9 hours of sleep every night and wake up feeling like a superhero.
Nine hours of sleep and for all kindergartens like me (ha ha) 10 or 11 hours of sleep keeps your brain focused and helps you learn. It keeps you from getting sick and puts you in a happy mood.
Remember folks, Being Human, and Being happy, and Being healthy is fun and it feels great. Just remember, (lets shout out loud in chorus) 5 – 2 – 1 – 0 – +
Conclusion
So there you have it, the Avengers of Healthy Habits. We have our energy, our power, and our grace. Let’s make healthy habits a part of our daily routine and join forces to become the best versions of ourselves. Remember, we may not have superpowers, but with the 5210+ plan, we can be heroes in our own right!
